Overview

Startup Ecosystem Tokyo Consortium aims to give back to the region and sustainably develop Tokyo's economy by supporting the social implementation of innovation by accelerating the growth of startups and forming a startup ecosystem in Tokyo. .

Innovation is essential for the development of the economy and business activities. It is becoming increasingly recognized both around the world and in Japan that the elements of diversity are essential to creating innovation. Diversity management, which secures human resources with diverse attributes and sensitivities, abilities, values, and experiences, and enables each to demonstrate their abilities to the fullest, has become an important issue. .

In the United States, the Securities and Exchange Commission has mandated "disclosure of human capital information" from 2020, treating human resources as investment targets, including diversity management, and promoting efforts to maximize their value and stock market performance. It is used as a basis for investment decisions. In Japan, this is attracting increasing attention, with the government planning to make disclosure mandatory starting with securities reports for the fiscal year ending March 2023, and encouraging the disclosure of information such as the ratio of women in managerial positions and the wage gap between men and women.

Under these circumstances, many startup companies that support human capital management and diversity management are emerging both around the world and in Japan.

This PT (Project Team*) will welcome founders and managers of startup companies active in the two fields of HR tech and femtech (women's health care), and will introduce examples from overseas such as Silicon Valley and Japan. Based on the current situation, we will have an honest discussion about the possibilities of the Tokyo area startup ecosystem.

Even if you are not a member of the Tokyo Consortium, you can participate as long as you agree with the purpose of the Tokyo Consortium and become a member, so if you are interested, please feel free to join us.

*The Tokyo Consortium has established a forum (PT, project team) to encourage interaction between members in order to revitalize efforts to form a startup ecosystem. *This event is not scheduled to be streamed online.
